Hotel Chocolat launches its first store on the continent

British chocolatier, cocoa grower and Chocolate Week partner, Hotel Chocolat, opened a new store in Amsterdam last week, its first in continental Europe.
Set in a traditional townhouse in the popular Heiligeweg Street area of the city, it features a ‘secret’ Coffee Vs Cocoa Bar in an atmospheric oak-paneled room on the first floor, reached via a partially hidden staircase. The bar serves the company’s new cocoa drinks, allowing customers to choose to have their favourite daily espresso, latte or cappuccino made with either coffee or cocoa beans.
Hotel Chocolat CEO, Angus Thirlwell, said, “I am incredibly excited about our European plans. The Dutch market is very similar to the British and so I feel we’ll fit in perfectly.”
