Thorntons opened their first shop in Sheffield in 1911 and are still a British owned company with British made products. Keith Hurdman, one of the UK's best chocolatiers has recently joined the company and already has some exciting plans for product innovation and development.

Chocolate Week supports the UK's finest independent chocolate shops, however, we've been impressed with the changes going on at Thorntons and their quality values which are very much in line with our own - quality chocolate, no artificial colours or flavours, only cocoa butter, no fats etc.

We have a particular fondness for Thorntons who first introduced many of us to the magic of chocolate when we were little people purchasing a couple of continentals with our pocket money.

Look out for the new Luxury Chocolate Blocks in-store, a range of 19 bars of chocolate including 3 origin darks (try the Mexico 66%), flavoured bars (we're particularly fond of the earthy Togo 61% with fiery Chinese ginger) and even an intense 85% French Dark for those of you who like a real chocolate hit.

Look out for Thornton's new Metropolitan collection and also their wonderful award winning range of Chocolate Blocks.

Visit the website to find your nearest Thornton's store or to order online.
